Blush, or rouge, is an important product in the make-up routine as it recreates the natural rosiness and can then be used to create a natural blush and give color and life to the cheeks. A blush adds freshness to the face, we always look fresher and healthier with a little rosiness on the cheeks. You can also use a blush to create a more dramatic and marked effect if you so wish. Blush is available in both baked and loose powder and cream form and comes in a variety of colors, ranging from different shades of pink and red, to more brown and orange colors.

How do I apply a blush in the best way?

A blush should be applied between contouring products, i.e. between shading and highlight , or on the cheekbones. This depends on the shape of the face and what you want to highlight. Apply along the cheekbone in a slightly arc-shaped movement diagonally upwards. For a more natural look apply to the apple of the cheek and shade diagonally upwards. The apple of the cheek is emphasized by smiling and the blush is applied to the highest point. For a softer result, we recommend using a fluffy blush/rouge brush such as the Inika Powder Brush and for a more buildable and highlighted make-up you can use a denser brush such as the Inika Cheek Topper Brush. Build up the color gradually to avoid a too intense and unnatural look. Work the product well into the skin to ensure that the blush blends naturally with the rest of your makeup.

Tip! For a narrow and oblong face, apply your blush to the apple of the cheek to give width. If you have a round face instead, apply along the cheekbones to lengthen the face.
