INIKA's Makeup Artist Isabel Ztirl talks about spring's 7 trends in Kurera magazine from 2018. She tells us which her favorite products are from INIKA Organic - a 100% natural and vegan makeup and skincare brand.
Trend 1 - Glow
After a cold winter, many people experience that their skin feels dry and flaky. Dry lines may have formed that cannot be rubbed away with daily skin care. Dry skin is dead skin and should be scrubbed away. I personally love scrubbing out a new glow in my skin with a mixture of coconut oil, coffee grounds and honey to remove these old residues. Furthermore, before the sun season, I lubricate my face with an oil that is rich in beta-carotene, such as Enriched Rosehip Oil from INIKA, which has become an obvious choice for a pale dry skin like myself!
Trend 2 - No makeup makeup
For spring 2018 we will see more natural, lighter foundations, so-called "no-makeup makeup". My personal favorite right now is INIKAS BB Cream which also contains primer, which gives a cosmetically smoother surface to the skin.
Trend 3 - Golden cheekbones
The shimmering highlight trend is here to stay. What we can trend-spot today is that the previously champagne-colored cheekbones may also shine in more golden tones towards spring.
Trend 4 - Sunscreen
After a long winter and many long days without sun, many of us long for that sun-kissed skin. A classic savior in times of need that is also seen frequently this season is sunblock , use a small brush and sweep over the face where the sun hits, such as the forehead, bridge of the nose, cheekbones and chin.
Trend 5 - Eyebrows
The very defined eyebrows are slowly becoming a thing of the past and by spring more natural brows are predicted to appear. To achieve a more natural result yourself, try filling in your brows with a small angled brush and brow shadow . Use the brush dry where you want a softer result and moisten the brush where you want a sharper definition.
Trend 6 - Purple
Purple is predicted to be the absolute hottest color of 2018. On the catwalk we have already seen purple on the eyelids, kajal and purple lips. My advice to anyone who wants to get on the purple eyeshadow trend is to have some kind of barrier between the eyes and the purple shadow to avoid the feeling of a black eye. This can be done in a very stylish way with a liquid eyeliner or a darker eyeshadow in the lash line.
Trend 7 - Glossy lips
The matte lips have done their thing this time and we welcome spring with wonderfully glossy lips! This applies to everything from neutral tones, to delicious red tones and of course the trending color purple. My favorite right now for spring is INIKAS Lip Glaze in the color Rosewood. A discreet purple tone that also suits those who are a little more careful with makeup but still want to keep up with trends like purple, gloss and metal.
