Naturlig dubbelrengöring

Double cleansing – the key to radiant skin

Have you ever washed your face and still felt like your skin wasn't really clean? Then double cleansing could be the solution you've been looking for.

It’s easy to think that a single wash is enough to cleanse your skin, but the truth is that makeup, sunscreen, dirt and pollution can create a film that regular cleansing can’t always break down. By double cleansing, you can ensure that your skin is truly clean – deep down. And clean skin is healthy skin!

What is double cleansing?

Double cleansing is exactly what it sounds like – you cleanse your face twice. But it’s not just about repeating the same process. Instead, it uses two different types of cleanser to effectively break down and remove different types of impurities.

1️⃣ Dissolves and removes makeup, sunscreen, sebum and fat-based impurities.

2️⃣ Deeply cleanses the skin, removing sweat, dirt and residue from step 1.

This method is widely used in Korean skincare routines – and for good reason. By washing your face in two steps, you get clearer, fresher skin that is better able to absorb moisture and active ingredients from your skincare.

Why should you double cleanse?

During the day, your skin is exposed to a lot of pollution and dust particles, as well as the use of sunscreen and makeup. In addition, your skin naturally produces oil and sweat, which mix with these external factors and create a film on the skin surface.

If we don't wash this off properly, it can:
🌿 Clog pores and cause blemishes.
🌿 Make it harder for your skin to absorb serums and moisturizers.
🌿 Leave behind makeup and sunscreen residue that can irritate the skin.

Sunscreen in particular is notoriously difficult to wash off with a simple cleanser. After all, sunscreen is designed to stay on the skin and protect it from harmful UV rays – which means it may also take more than a quick wash to completely disappear.

How to do a double cleanse

There are two popular ways to double cleanse, and which method you choose depends on your skin type and preferences:

1️⃣ Micellar Water + Cleanser

🌿Step 1: Use INIKA Phyto-active Rosewater Micellar on a cotton pad to dissolve makeup and impurities.
🌿Step 2: Follow up with your usual cleanser – it can be a gel, mousse, cream or milk.

Suitable for those who have sensitive skin or prefer a lighter cleansing.

2️⃣ Cleansing Oil + Cleanser

🌿Step 1: Massage a cleansing oil, we suggest Adaptogenic Cleansing Oil from INIKA or Cleansing Oil from Moonsun Organic of Sweden, onto dry skin to break down impurities, sunscreen and makeup. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
🌿 Step 2: Follow up with your usual cleanser – it can be a gel, mousse, cream or milk.

Perfect for those who wear makeup or use sunscreen daily.

Try it yourself – do you see the difference?

An easy way to discover the effect of double cleansing is to use a cotton pad/reusable pad after a simple cleanse and see what it looks like.

🌿 Wash your face once and wipe with micellar water or facial toner on a cotton pad. Is the cotton pad white and clean? Probably not...
🌿 Wash your face once more and dry with a new one.

Do you see a difference? If there is dirt or makeup residue on the cotton pad after the first wash, it is a sign that the skin is not completely clean.

Give your skin the best conditions

Clean skin is skin that can breathe, absorb moisture, and look radiantly healthy. By adding double cleansing to your skincare routine, you are investing in clearer, more balanced skin.

So why not try it yourself? Your skin will thank you. 💖
